Seawatch, Kure Beach NC is a quaint and very quiet coastal community. The majority of homes are on Seawatch Way, a winding circle street with no thru traffic. There is a clubhouse and pool, tennis court, playground, and a private beach access. It is between the Kure Beach main street and Carolina Beach. Seawatch, Kure Beach NC is just .6 miles from the center of Kure Beach and the fishing pier. There you will find restaurants and shops. Kure Beach does not receive as many visitors as Carolina Beach so there is not as much congestion. Continuing south for another 1.75 miles on Pleasure Island as the island is called you will come to Fort Fisher. Fort Fisher is named for the Civil War Fort that is here. It was used to protect the port of Wilmington from Northern aggression. You can tour the grounds and visit the museum. The North Carolina Aquarium is also at Fort Fisher. It is a great place to visit, especially for children. They have programs to educate them about the local ocean habitat and its inhabitants. A little further south, towards the end of the island, is the ferry that will take you to Southport. A quaint town with restaurants and shops.
