Surf Watch, Carolina Beach NC is a side by side 2 building condo complex. They are two story buildings with four condos each. Construction was complete in 1999. Each condo is a 3 bed and 2 bath that is approximately 1340 square feet. The price range is $180,000 to $200,000. They are close to a public beach access and next to the Carolina Beach Pier where there is a grill and bar. It is also next to Freeman Park, a beach that allows four wheel drive vehicles. It is popular for camping and fishing. Surf Watch, Carolina Beach NC is 17 blocks(1.75 miles) from the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, restaurants, nightlife and carnival.

It should be noted that the beach in front of Surf Watch has been built up with boulders to protect against erosion and you need to walk .1 miles to the north, just beyond the pier, to get to a suitable area to put out an umbrella and beach blankets.

Although the history of Carolina Beach goes back to the late 1800's, the modern building boom was in the mid 1980's. Surf Watch is one of the few to see more contemporary construction. The rest of "Pleasure Island" (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has developed in a different way. Kure Beach does not have the condominiums like Carolina Beach. They have seen a construction boom in the 2000's replacing older homes with newer homes. And that is still continuing on to this day. Fort Fisher will never be developed. The historic Civil War fort is there and the North Carolina Aquarium as well.
