Sun Skipper D, Carolina Beach NC is a 3 story, ocean front condo complex consisting of 12 units. Construction was complete in 1983. They are 2 bed and 2 bath and are approximately 900 square feet. The prices range from $200,000 to $270,000. Amenities include access to two pools located at other Sun Skipper complexes (one is across the street), and flood insurance. There is a public beach access next to the building for owner/renters use. Sun Skipper D, Carolina Beach NC is within walking distance(.25 miles) of the Carolina Beach Pier where there is a grill and a bar. Freeman Park is also there. It is the north end of Carolina Beach open to 4 wheel drive vehicles only. Camping is permitted and it is a popular fishing spot. It is also 15 blocks(1.5 miles) from the Carolina Beach Boardwalk, restaurants, nightlife and the carnival.

It should be noted that the beach in front of Sun Skipper D has boulders on it to prevent erosion. These boulders extend .06 miles to the south where it is possible to put out an umbrella and beach blankets.

The most recent building boom on Carolina Beach was the mid 80's. Condominiums replaced the older homes. These three story structures had to fit in the lots so they are no wider than a standard home. "Pleasure Island" consists of Carolina Beach as the northern most beach. Fort Fisher is the southern end and Kure Beach is in the middle. Kure Beach has had a recent building boom but they are not putting in condominiums. They are removing older homes and replacing them with newer ones. There is no development at Fort Fisher.
