Airlie Brook Wilmington NC

Airlie Brook Wilmington NC is a quiet, winding, single cul-de-sac road off of Airlie Rd.  Airlie Rd is a scenic bisection between Oleander and Eastwood Rd coming out just before the Wrightsville Beach Bridge. It takes a tour of the Intracoastal Waterway and Wrightsville Beach sound along its slow paced path.

The homes are situated on 1/3 to 1/2 acre lots and the architecture varies from Transitional to Ranch to Cape Cod.  These 8 homes were constructed between 1991-2008.  They range in size from 2200 to 4200 square feet and are priced between $225,000.00 to $550,000.00.

Airlie Brook is very close to Airlie Gardens, a 67 acre public garden located close to Oleander Rd. It was created in 1901 as a private garden for the Pembroke Jones family by Mrs. Jones as a lush, flowing, naturalistic Southern Garden with thousands of azaleas, camellias, magnolias, and wisteria. The garden was purchased by New Hanover County in 1999 opening it to the public for an admission fee.

Take a trip back in time and enjoy the view of Gabriel’s Landing. This 102 acre home site and horse farm is on the national register of historic places. The colonial house sits on a knoll overlooking Wrightsville Sound. The property is named after Gabriel Johnston, a former owner of the property in the 1700’s(his house is since gone), and was a Royal Governor of the Colony.

Airlie Rd. finishes off with 3 restaurants (Dockside restaurant, Fish House Grill, and the Bridge Tender) and a marina. This beautiful road starts with a mature landscape and botanical gardens, sweeps into a sound view, and ends at the beginning of Wrightsville Beach(1 mile away).  Mayfaire is just two miles away.
